Seattle Pictures - Words
A lot of people have been pestering me for pictures of my apartment, Microsoft, etc.
And I know I really ought to be documenting all this, lest somebody accuse me of lying about it 50 years from now when we're in rocking chairs trading stories over prune juice.
So here we are, then...
Here's my new apartment, the day I moved in. Note the 70's era stairway. I grew up in a house that had stairs like that. Great for sliding down on boxes, boogie boards, etc.
Another shot that catches more of the yellow tint of the place. It's not this yellow, I just suck with cameras.
There's the box I was using down on the landing. Easily amused, I know.
And there is The Window, in it's full glory.
This is Andrew Shuman, my boss's boss's boss, and the highest up the totem pole I've met. Look at the professionalism, the committment. *This*, my friends, is what it takes to be in management at the most powerful software company on Earth.
Craig Miller, my boss's boss. Another classic example of Microsoft management. Does not yet appreciate the simple beauty of your-mom jokes.
Give it time, give it time.
A real, actual, Microsoft database diagram. You are impressed, I can feel it.
Sup Lounge, where many ad-hoc meetings occur. On the left, we have David "That wouldn't be considered a bug in Ireland" O'Loghlin, an intern whose main task is apparently comic relief. And on the right, that's Juraj, the person who first suggested I look for housing on Capitol Hill. Thanks, yo.
Graham, another intern, working hard to complete his feature before going back to school. Graham has a dangerously intense obsession with bad 80s music. He's probably rocking out to Boy George right now.
From left to right: Justin, who rocks the front-end UI goodness; Chiv, who is a backend grunt like me; and Miguel, who designed a good chunk of the backend, and whom is always up for super-geeky programming talk.
Please people, please! The laywers are telling us that you MUST go home SOMETIMES.
Foosball, two Halo stations, Street Fighter 2 (but player 1 is broken), and pinball (not turned on). The foosball competition is pretty intense, when available, but people are usually busy working :(.
Free sodas, water, juice, and milk. The snacks are diverse, but you have to pay.
Non-descript Microsoft office building #116.
Non-descript microsoft entrance #116.
Technically, I share an office with this Pradeep fellow, but he only shows up about once a week.
And there is the place my butt lays most hours of the workday. Inspiring, no?
